![]() No man is an island and everybody needs friends. Besides our family members, friends are able to provide us with love and understanding and true friends stick by us through thick and thin. It is easy to get to know alot of people and have many accquaintances but true friends takes time to build. To make friendships work, there are some unwritten rules to follow. Loyalty and trust is two important ingredients in a friendship. When you share a secret with a friend, you do not expect it to be spreaded around. Sharing the secret already makes you feel vulnerable and open to hurt. If a friend betrays your trust, it takes some time before you ever open up and trust that person again. A friend should not be one who are only there during good times and cannot be found when trouble comes. These are fair weather friends whom all of us can do without. Friendship is actually a very delicate thing that we must treat with care. After reading that, how do you feel? Now ask yourself, are you a true friend or are you just a fair-weather/play friend?
